Solarsail confirmed for Suntech VIP World expo tourist vessel

Solar Sailor is proud to announce signing the construction contract for a solarsail for the Suntech VIP World expo tourist vessel. The revolutionary new vessel will be a highly visible sight in Shanghai following the launch in time for World Expo in May 2010.

Robert Dane, CEO of Solar Sailor commented with the following: “This is the third generation of solarsail we have developed and includes all the improvements and lessons we have learnt through our prototypes, Sydney vessel and research & development. It will be a single sail only, the shape will allow it to sail better to all points of the wind, have more intelligence to make it more responsive, be able to be bolted on the vessel as a single unit or retro fitted to other boats and it will include the latest highest efficiency lightweight solar panels from Suntech. It will also be the largest solar sail we have built to date."
